Program Overview
The aim of the program is to deliver a short-term parent education program based on Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) principles to support families of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
We will examine the feasibility of this program within a tertiary care center and explore parent perceptions. Over time, we intend to study outcome variables such as parental knowledge about ASD and child’s behavior, fidelity in implementing behavior-analytic procedures, and ability to procure follow-up services. These findings may inform future practices and have implications for parents and medical providers.
Who is eligible?
If your child has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and has not previously received Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy then your child qualifies for this program.
Will this help my child?
The study does have the possible benefit of enhancing your families understanding of ABA theory techniques and new skills. It is our hope that this study will benefit children and families with ASD.
