About the Program
This project is a pilot research program that pairs families of children with invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV), with parent coaches (both parents and siblings) that have had experience with home care nursing. The overall goal of the program is to share tips and tricks that we have learned over the years both through personal experiences, and what we have learned from other families. Throughout the course of their involvement parents discuss strategies for advocating for home nursing including topics related to building and maintaining a home health nursing team. The coaching sessions are flexible and occur roughly weekly via video or phone conferencing, or in-person visiting in the family home or hospital.
