The Office of Civic Engagement’s Community Engagement in Context session provides an introduction to OCE, its purpose, programs, and engagement strategy, as well as an opportunity to learn more about how OCE can support faculty to connect with community partners around areas of shared interests. The session will include basic frameworks for faculty to consider when approaching community partners as part of their research or to develop community-engaged classes and programming within the context of the University’s dynamic history on the South Side. This session will be facilitated by the Office of Civic Engagement’s Associate Vice President Susana Vasquez and Director for Program Strategy, Nika Levando.
