To support you in your research and academic work, the University is offering the following training sessions to address privacy policies and University processes for managing sensitive research data. These sessions are of particular importance for faculty and staff whose research involves sensitive research data, which are data protected by local, state, or federal laws.

Navigating the Data Use Agreement (DUA) Process
Attendees will learn about the DUA process, University compliance requirements for DUAs (including data security and IRB oversight), and important University DUA contracting policies.

Data Privacy in Research
Attendees will learn about the data privacy laws and regulations that most often apply to University research, how to identify information that may be subject to those laws and regulations, and the strategies and resources available for researchers seeking to work with such data.

Working with Sensitive Research Data in the Secure Data Enclave (SDE)
Attendees will learn how to log into the SDE environment, transfer and store data, and analyze secure data once a DUA has been executed or when sensitive data are generated.
