We are excited to announce the launch of MidwaySSD, a high-performance computing cluster within the Midway ecosystem. Working in collaboration with the Research Computing Center (RCC), the Division of the Social Sciences has established this partnership endeavoring to continually advance computationally intensive Social Science research and as importantly, to reduce barriers to the adoption of new strategies and technologies. It is available to all SSD faculty as well as your approved collaborators and student research assistants.

MidwaySSD offers interactive sessions with a user-friendly graphical interface capable of leveraging the power of 21 devoted Centos8 nodes connected via HDR InfiniBand at 100Gbps, accessing 400 TB of storage. Based on feedback from researchers, SSD has contracted for the addition of a Lenovo GPU system to bolster the resources dedicated to SSD researchers, and it will be announced after installation. To learn more about this expansive new resource, please visit this page.

RCC will offer a series of introductory sessions led by Brooke Luetgert, the SSD Liaison within RCC.
