Graduate Students and Visiting Students
UChicago MA and PhD Students
Early career graduate students may participate in SISRM coursework and the methodological workshop series. Graduate students are not eligible to participate in the RA program.
Registration
MA and PhD students who wish to register for summer courses must contact their Dean of Students for registration approval and instructions.
All graduate students registered for an eligible SISRM course will receive an invitation to the workshop series.
Courses
The following courses are open for graduate enrollment in Summer 2023:
- MACS 30500 Computing for the Social Sciences
- GEOG 38702 Introduction to GIS & Spatial Analysis
- SOSC 30112 Introductory Statistical Methods and Applications for the Social Sciences
- SOSC 30224 Virtual Ethnographic Field Research Methods
Visiting Graduate Students
Visiting graduate students must register as a non-degree visiting student through the graduate student-at-large (GSAL) program. All graduate students-at-large registered for an eligible SISRM course will receive an invitation to participate in the workshop series.

Visiting Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students who wish to enroll in UChicago summer programming should review the visiting undergraduate guidelines and deadlines, and apply through Summer Session.
Please review our courses to learn about course pre-requisites. All SISRM courses are open to undergraduates. The SISRM RA program is not open to visiting undergraduate students.
