Jamie Gentry (she/her)
Senior Program Manager
Jamie manages the operations of SISRM including the coordination of its courses, development and execution of its summer workshop programming, execution of the RA program, development of its external partnerships, and oversight of all communications. Jamie holds an MS in Library and Information Sciences from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, an MA in Latin American Studies from the University of Chicago (AM ’11), and a BA in Spanish from Kansas State University. In addition to her passion for student-focused services, Jamie is an active gardener, maker, reader, and volunteer chef at a local community kitchen.

María del Pilar Ferreira (she/her)
Program Coordinator
María collaborates with SISRM faculty, students, and staff to organize and develop SISRM’s courses and workshops, and works closely with Paul and Jamie to support all aspects of the RA program. Prior to joining the Summer Institute, she graduated from the University of Chicago’s Master of Arts Program in the Social Sciences (MAPSS) (AM ´22) with a concentration in History. She completed her undergraduate work at Bryn Mawr College where she majored in International Studies and History. In her free time, María enjoys playing and watching soccer, listening to Harry Styles, and spending time with her friends cooking Paraguayan food.
Communications Assistants

Gabriella S. (she/her)
Communications and Programming Assistant
As Communications and Programming Assistant, Gabriella supports the development and execution of the programming for students in the Summer Institute in Social Research Methods, creates original content for the SISRM newsletter and the SISRM annual report, and supports the development of ongoing relationships between SISRM and units across campus.
Gabriella is a fourth-year student in the College; she is a Psychology and Comparative Human Development major. Outside of coursework, Gabriella loves to crochet, read, go to the gym and run. She also is a fan of creative cooking and picnics.

Felix G.
Communications and Programming Assistant
As Communications and Programming Assistant, Felix supports the development and execution of the programming for students in the Summer Institute in Social Research Methods, creates original content for the SISRM newsletter and the SISRM annual report, and supports the development of ongoing relationships between SISRM and units across campus.
Felix graduated from the College in 2023 with a major in Latin American and Caribbean Studies and a minor in Education and Society. In Autumn 2023, he will begin the UChicago MAPSS program, where he will concentrate on Education and Society. In his free time, Felix enjoys exploring Hyde Park and Chicago’s other beautiful neighborhoods, listening to pop music, and watching true crime debriefs on YouTube.

Serena B.
Communications and Programming Assistant
As Communications and Programming Assistant, Serena supports the development and execution of the programming for students in the Summer Institute in Social Research Methods, creates original content for the SISRM newsletter and the SISRM annual report, and supports the development of ongoing relationships between SISRM and units across campus.
Serena is a rising third year, majoring in Public Policy with a minor in Geographic Information Science. When she is not working on GIS, Serena loves to try new food, go swimming in the lake, paint in acrylic, and run.
