Gloria Gibson is the 7th president of Northeastern University, having been appointed president by Northeastern Illinois University’s Board of Trustees on March 15, 2018. Prior to joining Northeastern, Gibson served as provost and senior vice president for Academic Affairs at Morgan State University, and Assistant Director of the Black Film Center/Archive at Indiana University. She has written on a range of subjects including African-American independent filmmaking and women filmmakers of the African diaspora.  Dr. Gibson is the co-author of Frame by Frame II: A Filmography of the African American Image, 1978-1994 (Indiana University Press, 1997).
