Search Process and Compliance

All academic searches must receive prior approval from the Dean of the Social Sciences before moving ahead. This usually happens during Spring budget meetings between the Dean and the Departmental Chair. Moving forward, all searches will require the SSD Search Plan document to be filled out. The SSD Search Plan should also be included with all hiring cases.

Every Autumn quarter the Dean’s Office will conduct a mandatory search compliance training session. Those departments approved to search during that year will be required to attend the training. You may also reference the Compliant Search Process Presentation for more information
