5/23 Sheryl Kroen, “From the Rubble to the Europe Train”

We hope you are all doing well. The paper is now available for this year’s final session the Transnational Approaches to Modern Europe Workshop. On Wednesday, May 23 we will welcome Sheryl Kroen, Associate Professor of History at the University of Florda, Associate Professor of History at the University of Florida who will present excerpts from her upcoming manuscript, “From the Rubble to the Europe Train, 1945-1953” Commentary will be provided by Madeline Smith, PhD Student in History. This event is co-sponsored by the France Chicago Center.

Professor Kroen has provided a letter introducing the project, her manuscript’s table of contents, and two excerpts, one from her work on France and another from her work on Germany. All of these files are available on our Canvas page as well as our website. We will meet in the John Hope Franklin Room (SS 224), 5:00-6:30 PM. A short reception will follow. There will then be a dinner at Professor Leora Auslander’s home after the reception. There is limited space for this dinner, so if you are interested, please RSVP by tomorrow, Monday, May 21.
