Dear Colleagues,

We hope you are all doing well. We are pleased to announce the first session of the  Transnational Approaches to Modern Europe Workshop for the 2019-2020 Academic year. On Wednesday, October 16 will be having Gregory Valdespino, PhD Candidate in History present his paper “‘In a Milieu Where Everything is Foreign’: Foyers, West African Migrants and the Search for Home in Interwar France, 1919-1939″ Commentary will be provided by Tahel Goldsmith, PhD Student in History.

The paper is currently available on our canvas and chalk page as well as the workshop website. The paper comes with a PDF with several associated images. For those who are not members of the workshop interested in getting the paper, please email the Workshop coordinators Roy Kimmey (kimmey@uchicago.edu) or Gregory Valdespino (gvaldespino@uchicago.edu) to get a copy of the paper.

We will be meeting in the Foster Hall, Room 103 from 4:30-6:00 PM. Please note the alternative location.
