Instrument Demonstration: Call for Samples

by | Aug 30, 2019 | Announcements, Instrument Demo | 0 comments

The CAT Facility will host two instrument demonstrations in the next few months. Details can be found on the Events page.

Miltenyi MACSQuant Tyto cell sorter (October 21st to 25th)
1 – The Miltenyi MACSQuant Tyto is designed for high efficiency cell sorting in true sterile conditions.

Your research can benefit from:
– Sterile Environment – Use sorted cells in downstream applications such as cell expansion, cell differentiation and functional assays.
– Eliminating cross contmaination – The single-use, closed cartridge removes environmental contamination and sample cross contamination. The sorting can be completed on the benchtop without a biosafety cabinet.
– Decreasing cellular stress – Temperature controlled valve sorting decreases cellular stress by maintaining constant temperature and not exposing cells to electrical charge, decompression or high pressure.
– Increasing yield & purity – Sequentially sort the negative fraction to obtain more cells or re-sort the positive fraction of cells to increase purity.
– Sorting high-risk samples – The disposble, sterile cartride enables sorting of possible infected cells, bacteria, yeast and parasites without risk of instrument contmaination.

Register here for a demo the week of October 21, 2019. The CAT Facility staff will reach out to you with more information.

Particle Metrix ZetaView® QUATT 4-Laser NTA system (September 30th)
If you are interested in measuring extracellular vesicles (EVs), exosomes, viruses, or virus-like particles, sign up for the Particle Metrix ZetaView QUATT.

The new QUATT 4-laser system uses automation for enhanced sampling, yielding very reliable concentration measures, as well as fast sampling for reduced bleaching during fluorescence NTA (f-NTA). Our QUATT laser system allows for the detection of multiple fluorescently labeled EV and their biomarkers during f-NTA, where laser & filter selection are fully automated.
