“One of my favorite Chicago-based movies is ‘The Blues Brothers’. It’s a 1980 comedy about two brothers who are trying to raise money to save an orphanage by getting their band together to play a big show.
“We had this movie on betamax in the 80s, so I grew up watching it over and over. It is a classic Chicago movie. Jim Belushi is from Chicago and was also part of The Second City (Chicago’s famous comedy company). It was filmed all over the city, so I love watching the scenes that remind me of Chicago when I was a kid. Chicago is a lot different now!
“This movie is full of great music and big stars like Aretha Franklin and Ray Charles. There are also famous songs like ‘Sweet Home Chicago’ and ‘Everybody Needs Somebody.’
“It’s an old movie with a ridiculous plot, but I think it’s still a lot of fun to watch for scenes of Chicago and great music!”
