We know that many of our incoming and current UChicago students and affiliates are unable to explore Chicago at the moment. That’s why every Friday this summer, we will showcase a Chicago cultural icon. This week, it’s Lollapalooza (July 30-Aug 2)!

For almost 30 years, Lollapalooza has been a massive summer music festival in downtown Chicago. This year, the entire festival is online, for free, on Youtube.

In addition to famous musical acts like Paul MCCartney, Chance the Rapper, OutKast, Arcade Fire (plus so many more!), the festival will feature special appearances by former U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama, and Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot.
