In Spring 2023, UChicagOrigami hosted a talk from Beth Johnson, a world-renowned origamist who focuses on creating elegant, naturalistic origami designs. She often incorporates recursion and tessellations into her animal designs to emulate their real-world features (e.g. the recursive spiral on the tail of her squirrel design).
