The Midwest Women in Science Conference (WISC) was founded in 2016 by the University of Notre Dame’s chapter of the Association of Women in Science to help address underrepresentation and attrition of women in STEM. Their founding mission was “to initiate, encourage, and engage women in STEM in a welcoming and supportive environment, creating a sense of belonging and providing opportunities for success”.
This research conference continues to provide support and resources for early career women and gender minorities in STEM through research presentations, mentoring from leading professionals, and professional development workshops.
