If any of members are interested in volunteering at a science outreach fair, please see the attached flyers and email. A local elementary school (just past Washington Park) is hosting a science fair in May and WiC+ would be happy to support any students who are interested in putting on a booth at the event.
From the GGO organizers: “We are hosting a science fair on May 12 at John Fiske Elementary School. At the fair, we will have booths from other clubs and community organizations that promote environmental justice, community science, and/or STEAM-based learning. We would love to have Women in Chemistry host a booth!”
Please email Julie (jkorsmeyer@uchicago.edu) if you are interested in volunteering, and if 4+ people express interest then we can put everyone in contact to figure out logistics.
To be clear, WiC+ will not be in charge of the organization but can help support any members who want to volunteer by contributing supplies, tableware, etc.
