For my final project I have expanded upon my interview with my father to conduct an exploration into the significance of art and colonialism in culture, through the discussion of the Benin Ivory Mask. I broke the blog post into the subheadings: cultural artifacts from home,the museums, the connection between art and identity, and repatriation. These subheadings represent the themes I found in my conversation with my dad and they were the topics I explored through scholarly writings. My project includes a video I found on the Ivory mask, quotes from articles, and pictures that I found online, as well as pictures my dad took when he saw the ivory mask in the Metropolitan museum. Overall, it was nice to see the evolution of my multimedia practicum.
