FAQ

How long will the study take?

Most studies last less than an hour and require just one visit to the university. We often allocate 60 minutes for the study to provide enough time for your child to become comfortable with the study area and the researcher. If you sign up for a study, we can give you specific information about timing!

What if I need to reschedule my appointment?
Please contact the researcher who you initially scheduled with if you need to change or cancel your appointment.
Can I bring other children with me?
Absolutely!  Just let us know when you are scheduling the appointment and someone from our research staff will be available to babysit in our playroom.
Where do I park?
We have free parking located in the lot across the street from our building.  Someone from the center will meet you at the parking lot to let you in and to provide you with a parking pass.
What if my child becomes fussy or uninterested during the study?
We understand that young children’s attention can change quickly.  Therefore, we take breaks if necessary and parents are free to end the session at any point.
Will I be with my child during the study?

We aim to make all of our families as comfortable as possible, and of course you can join your child during the study! Often, older children are happy to participate by themselves.

Where can I find out more information about studies my child has participated in?
Check out our research section, as it is updated as we publish our results in scientific journals.  Additionally, we send out newsletters to families detailing our findings.
Are there other places to visit in Hyde Park?
Yes, we have put together a list of other activities that may be of interest to you on your visit.
