Mission

The mission of the Bridgeport Free Clinic (BFC) is to make healthcare more accessible for residents of the Bridgeport and wider Chicago communities, with a particular focus on Asian and Asian-American populations. To this end, we provide free medical care regardless of insurance or immigration status. We also strive to raise awareness about commonly underdiagnosed chronic conditions, such as hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, and Hepatitis B. In addition, we aim to connect patients to healthcare resources, such as affordable insurance plans or Federally Qualified Health Centers, which provide comprehensive and long-term primary care. Finally, in order to better serve our diverse patient population, we make Cantonese and Mandarin in-person interpreting services available to all clinic patients; other languages are available virtually.
