We would like to welcome Marcelo Nobrega, MD, PhD, Professor of Human Genetics, as Dean for Faculty Affairs in the Biological Sciences Division.
As Dean for Faculty Affairs for basic science faculty, Dr. Nobrega will work in collaboration with the Dean for Faculty Affairs for clinical faculty, Jay Pinto, MD, Professor of Surgery. Together, the Deans work with the Senior Director for Faculty Affairs to develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate programs that promote faculty development, including orientation of new faculty, career development, and skill building workshops on such topics as preparing for promotion, scientific writing, grantsmanship, trainee mentoring, leadership training, and wellness.
We would like to thank Ruth Anne Eatock, PhD, who has served as Dean for Faculty Affairs since 2016, for her leadership and advocacy.
