CRITICAL SOCIAL SCIENCE INITIATIVE

The Critical Social Science Initiative (CSSI) is a space for scholarly discussion, analysis, and experimentation. Housed within the Department of Sociology at the University of Chicago, it merges the functions of UC’s Council of Advanced Studies’ Workshop system with the conventional lecture series, departmental colloquia, and professional seminars. Students, faculty and invited guests from other institutions will share, discuss, and improve their research projects in regular meetings and special events or conferences. The Critical Social Science Initiative hopes to foster and promote social research, theorizing and critical knowledge in the interests of human liberation.
