The new location brings the charm of a Parisian bakery to Hyde Park, featuring classic favorites made fresh daily—crusty breads, flaky croissants, savory quiches, and tempting pastries. The bakery’s custom furniture and refrigerated display cases were made in France, and a French artist living in Chicago created a Parisian street scene mural in the dining area.
Chef/Owner Vincent Colombet was trained in Paris and brought his love for French baking to Chicago in 2004. He began selling his products at the Logan Square Farmers Market and opened his first café in Logan Square in 2009. With additional locations in Ravenswood and Humboldt Park, Vincent also runs Cook Au Vin in Bucktown, where La Boulangerie’s chefs, pastry experts, and bakers prepare all the company’s baked goods.
La Boulangerie sources its flour from Les Moulins Foricher in France—100% CRC-certified wheat grown in the Loiret and Yonne regions without additives or enzymes. To complement La Boulangerie’s offerings, Chicago’s Dark Matter Coffee will be served.
La Boulangerie’s products can be found in local restaurants, stores, and farmers’ markets year-round, including the Hyde Park Farmers Market on Sundays from 9 am – 2 pm through September 29. The company offers catering services, bringing a taste of France to special events. La Boulangerie connected with the owners of the previous business in the location, Bonjour Café Bakery, to understand local customers’ tastes and favorite baked goods, and looks forward to delighting the Hyde Park community.
