Jamie manages the operations of the GIScience minor and serves as a primary point of contact for students pursuing the minor. In addition to the this minor, Jamie also manages the Summer Institute in Social Research Methods, and the Health and Society minor. She holds an MS in Library and Information Sciences from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, an MA in Latin American Studies from the University of Chicago (AM ’11), and a BA in Spanish  from Kansas State University. In addition to her passion for student-focused services, Jamie is an active gardener, maker, reader, and volunteer chef at a local community kitchen.

Communications and Programming Assistant

As Communications and Programming Assistant, Serena supports the development and execution of the programming for students in the GIS program, creates original content for the GIS newsletter and annual report, and supports the development of ongoing relationships between the GIS program and units across campus.

Serena is a third-year majoring in Public Policy with a minor in Geographic Information Science. When she is not working on GIS, Serena loves to try new food, go swimming in the lake, paint in acrylic, and run.
