The United States and its institutions have been benefiting from the unpaid labor of Black communities since it’s founding. At The Village we have limited capacity and understand that volunteerism can be a privilege for those who can afford to work for free. In striving towards Economic Justice* we are prioritizing Stipends for Black, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Gender Non-Conforming individuals. Allies outside the community are very much encouraged to volunteer, understanding that we are centering the community every step of the way.
