The HTRC is pleased to announce the addition of the Leica LMD7000 Laser Microdissection System to our instrumentation portfolio. This advanced system enables researchers to isolate specific cells or regions of interest from tissue samples with exceptional precision and without physical contact, ensuring high sample purity and integrity.
The Leica LMD7000 uses a high-precision laser to cut and capture defined microscopic areas directly into collection vessels for downstream molecular analysis. This technology supports a wide range of applications in genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics. Key upgraded features from the LMD6500 include high-resolution optics with real-time imaging and documentation for live cell cutting and compatibility with diverse sample types and slide formats.
The Leica LMD7000 is now available for use by university researchers and collaborators. Training sessions are available by contacting DigitalPathology@bsd.uchicago.edu. Instrument reservations may be scheduled through our scheduling portal (provided after training is completed).
