Valerie G Press, MD, MPH
Director
Dr. Valerie Press is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics and is the Executive Medical Director of Specialty Value-Based Care at the University of Chicago. She completed her MD and MPH (Health Management and Policy) at the University of Michigan in 2004, her Medicine-Pediatrics residency at the University of Chicago in 2008, and her Hospital Scholars Health Services Research fellowship at U Chicago in 2010.
Anna Volerman, MD
Associate Director (MD)
Dr. Anna Volerman is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Chicago Medicine. She graduated summa cum laude from Boston University School of Medicine in 2009. She completed her Internal Medicine / Pediatrics residency training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital / Boston Children’s Hospital in 2013. Since joining University of Chicago, she has developed and led innovative programs in clinical and community settings to improve health care delivery and optimize care.
Nicole L Bohr, PhD, RN
Associate Director (Non-MD)
Dr. Nicole Bohr is the Director of Nursing Research at the University of Chicago Medicine. With a BSN from the University of Iowa, Bohr worked as an ICU nurse for several years before returning to the University of Iowa to pursue an MSN and PhD in nursing. As a recent PITCH fellow and currently the only nurse PI at the University of Chicago, Bohr not only directs all the hospital’s nursing-based research, she also trains other UChicago Medicine nurses interested in research through the Nurses Using Research to Support Excellence (NURSE) Fellowship program.
Leah Traeger, MHA
Administrative Director
Leah Traeger is a Clinical Research Manager Press Clincial Research team. She graduated from Colorado State University in 2012 with her Master’s in Healthcare Administration and is dedicated to making a positive impact in patients’ treatment and self-management experiences.
Folabomi Oladosu, PhD
Scientific Communications Director
Folabomi (Bomi) Oladosu is a Scientific Writer for the Press Clinical Research Team. She received her PhD in Neurobiology from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill in 2016, focusing on the underlying biological mechanisms of chronic pain. She studied the underlying mechanisms of menstrual and chronic pelvic pain at NorthShore University HealthSystem until 2018, where she shifted her career from clinical research to medical and scientific communication.
Nicolas Caravelli, MS
Program Manager
Nicolas is a Clinical Research Coordinator I for the Press Clinical Research Team. He graduated from San Diego State University with a Master’s in Psychology in 2023, where he gained training in psychological research and patient navigation.
Andrea Jackson-Sagredo, MS
Program Statistician
Andrea Jackson-Sagredo is a Biostatistician for the Press Clincial Research Team. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Biostatistics at the University of Illinois at Chicago in the School of Public Health and expects to graduate in 2024. Andrea holds dual master’s degrees in Mathematics and Statistics from Northern Illinois University, awarded in 2021. She has over 5 years of professional experience, complemented by more than 10 years of academic studies. Leveraging her mathematical and statistical background, she aims to impact clinicians and public health policymakers.
