Resource: The Human Imaging Research Office
What is the HIRO?
The Human Imaging Research Office (HIRO) is intended to be the facilitator for clinical trials and research protocols that require medical imaging exams for their subjects. In this regard, the HIRO’s goal is to make this process more efficient and accurate, and to provide investigators and research staff with a wide selection of human research imaging services. The HIRO’s mission is to facilitate University of Chicago investigators conducting clinical trials and research studies that require medical imaging, and to ensure that the necessary imaging is performed and distributed in compliance with the research protocol, IRB requirements, and HIPAA regulations.
