The Workshop on Late Antiquity and Byzantium welcomes you back to Winter quarter. Please join us January 15 at 6pm in Swift 200 for a co-sponsored event hosted by the Jewish Studies Workshop:

Professor Arkady Kovelman, an eminent Russian-Jewish scholar and head of the Jewish Studies Department at Lomonosov Moscow State University, will present a paper entitled “The Legacy of Russian Humanities: From the Perspective of a Professor of Jewish Studies.”

Professor Kovelman is the author of Between Alexandria and Jerusalem: The Dynamic of Jewish and Hellenistic Culture (Brill, 2005).

Dr. Kovelman’s lecture is co-sponsored by the Center for East European and Russian/Eurasian Studies (CEERES), the Chicago Center for Jewish Studies (CCJS), and the Workshop for Late Antiquity and Byzantium.
