November 2024: Pierce and Chen groups (and alums) at ASHG Annual Meeting in Denver

 


June 2024:  Lab dinner and reunion to celebrate the graduation and hooding of Lizeth Tamayo.  Congratulations Lizeth!

 


March 2024:  Congratulations to doctoral students James Li (Public Health Sciences) and Niyati Jain (GGSB) on their recent publication in the American Journal of Human Genetics  entitled “The association of cigarette smoking with DNA methylation and gene expression in human tissue samples“.  A collaborative effort with contributions from Lizeth Tamayo and Lin Tong.

January 2023:  Congratulations to our former postdoctoral scholar Meri Oliva (now at AbbVie) on her recent publication in Nature Genetics  entitled “DNA methylation QTL mapping across diverse human tissues provides molecular links between genetic variation and complex traits“.   An outstanding achievement!  Her commentary is here.  It was a tremendous please working with Meri for the past few years.  We wish her the best.

June 2022:  Hooding ceremony for our amazing alums Meytal Chernoff and Dayana Delgado.  Congrats to you both!


June 2021:  Congratulations to Dayana Delgado for earning her PhD from the Department of Public Health Sciences at the University of Chicago!   So sad to see her go, but exciting opportunities ahead for Dr. Delgado!  One of the chapters from her outstanding dissertation is now published in EHP :

Feb 2021: Congratulations to MD/PhD student Meytal Chernoff on being awarded an F30 training fellowship from the NIEHS!   A well deserved honor and recognition of her amazing work studying the genetics of arsenic metabolism and toxicity.


September 2020: Congratulations to postdoctoral scholar Kathryn Demanelis on her recent publication in Science entitled “Determinants of telomere length across human tissues”.  An congrats on her new job at the University of Pittsburgh.  Her contributions to our group were massive and she will be sorely missed.  We wish her all the best!
