Hi everyone!

As we are saying goodbye to a wonderful summer at the Graham School, we are busier than ever heading into the 2016/17 Academic Year. It’s been a very hectic and exciting autumn so far, filed with new activities that are allowing us to be very intentional about bringing our students and instructors together and engaging them in networking and lifelong learning opportunities.

In this edition of the Graham School PDP Faculty Newsletter, you’ll find out more about the aforementioned activities such as seminars, workshops, career treks, and networking events. Since building the PDP community is a high priority for 2016/17, you’ll also get a chance to learn about our new student advisory board spearheaded by Lisa Malvin. Additionally, we are celebrating the one year anniversary of our newsletter which coincides with the creation of our new administrative team. After a full twelve months of implementing new processes, developing our course schedule and many other “firsts”, it is time to give you an update on the PDP state of affairs.

As usual, in our PDP Partner section, you will meet our newest faculty and staff, hear about one of our recent grads, Aurélie Desgardin whose academic journey started in Normandy has taken her to London, Tennessee, and Illinois, for now. Genevieve Long, Medical Writing and Editing instructor, is our faculty feature of the fall. She kindly shared with us how she got started in her field, took a natural turn into freelancing and has kept her passion for teaching along the way. Lastly, you’ll get an opportunity to learn a few things about our Student Affairs’ team, composed of Bridget Collier and Jarquetta Egeston, an incredible duo, and your go-to Graham administrators for all things student-related.

We always welcome the opportunity to share your professional news or feature the achievements of your students, so don’t hesitate to reach out.

You can submit your news to kbravais@uchicago.edu

Once again, I hope you enjoy keeping up with Graham School news and learning about each other!

Very Best,
Karine Bravais
