On Friday, February 8, 2019, Women in Chemistry hosted Professor Cathy L. Drennan to give the third annual WiC Seminar. Drennan’s talk, “Shake, Rattle, & Roll: Capturing Snapshots of Metalloproteins in Action”, focused on the conformational gymnastics of ribonucleotide reductases, metalloenzymes that convert ribonucleotides to deoxyribonucleotides for DNA biosynthesis and repair. Members of WiC also had the opportunity to meet with her during lunch and dinner to discuss science, as well as what it’s like to be a female academic.
