This is sue here, one of the students who had attended your Names and Actualit8es course at ECNU recently.
I hope sending this email is not inappropriate, but I have, what may or may not be, a silly little question. One of the (many) reasons I thought it may possibly be appropriate to ask you (many other channels seem otherwise blocked), is that on this website, it is mentioned that you are working on ‘time’, among other concepts.
With not being entirely sure how to ask my question, with there being so many places to draw from with regards to ‘time’ in the ancient Chinese tradition, maybe I’ll just select one place, as a staring point (although there are many, very many such places, such as chapter 8 of the Daodejing (movement excels in time).
So the place, for no particular reason whatsoever, that I’ll ask you about, if it’s OK, is Ruan Ji’s essay on Master Great Man.
Although, perhaps it would be too assuming to even start here. So maybe I should first ask, if you are very familiar with his works in general?
Also, it might be less rude of me to contact you out of the blue, if i explain why I am even wondering about this at all. Well, it is kind of (very much) related to what my initial research interest has been, which was the uses of 情 in Wei-In period philosophy (with a special emphasis on Wang Bi, coz of time constraints). It is also possible that I may not be able to complete the PhD research, but nevertheless, the questions linger, whether or which
Anywho, I’ll leave it here for now,and can only hope for a response
