Class visit with Kapwani Kiwanga

Looking forward to having Kapwani Kiwanga visit our class today. After studying Anthropology and Comparative Religions at McGill University, Kiwanga began her career as an artist at L’Ecole National Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, and with residencies at Le Fresnoy: National Contemporary Art Studio (France), and MU Foundation, Eindhoven (Netherlands). She will be presenting her past and current work in video, installation, performance, and sound art, and discussing with students what it means to follow a research-based art practice. Here most recent exhibition, The Sum and its Parts, curated by Yesomi Umolu just closed at the University of Chicago’s Logan Center for the Arts.
