COURT THEATRE
Who we are
Court Theatre is the professional theater of the University of Chicago, dedicated to innovation, inquiry, intellectual engagement, and community service. Court Theatre endeavors to make a lasting contribution to classic American theater by expanding the canon of translations, adaptations, and classic texts.
How we approach arts education
The Court Education Initiative views the arts as a vital catalyst for intellectual and emotional growth. Through our Artists-in-the-Schools (AIS) residencies and student matinees, Court aims to open up a dialogue between students, educators, administrators, and artists that offers fresh perspectives on theater and on Court’s main-stage work.
