OPPORTUNITIES FOR TEENS
Discover who you are through art
Art provides a powerful way for people to explore their inner landscape and express themselves. For teens, this type of self-discovery and expression is vital to their development. Amplify offers a range of opportunities for this age group to connect, create, and heal through art.

THINK IT! MAKE IT! SCREEN IT! (TIMISI)
TIMISI is a free program designed for youth ages 12–17 to gain experience working collaboratively to script, film, and edit their own original short films, in collaboration with Catherine Sullivan, artist and assistant professor in Visual Arts at the University of Chicago, and local not-for-profit Faithful Few.
No prior experience with filmmaking is required, but some interest in storytelling, poetry, spoken word, or songwriting is recommended. Aimed at increasing digital media literacy, the course strengthens students’ knowledge of the basics in videography, lighting, sound recording, and editing, with a focus on more advanced techniques to develop their own personal filmmaking style. The course hopes to engage students in both the enjoyment of the creative process and the work involved in giving form to ideas, feelings, and observations about the world in which they live.
