Office of Diversity & Inclusion, Biological Sciences Division

Founded in 2011, the BSD Office of Diversity & Inclusion advises leadership across the Biological Sciences Division on policies and programs that foster equity, belonging, and representation. From its inception to today’s initiatives, our office has worked hand-in-hand with UChicago Medicine and the Pritzker School of Medicine to embed inclusive practices into every facet of our community.

We partner with senior leaders and cross-disciplinary teams to translate data-driven insights into action: convening climate surveys and feedback forums, designing workshops on inclusive hiring and unconscious-bias mitigation, and seeding pilot projects through targeted grant programs. Through ongoing collaboration with student groups, academic departments, and external partners, we cultivate resource networks, mentoring circles, and leadership pathways that empower all faculty, staff, and trainees to thrive and contribute their unique perspectives to the BSD.
