Resources for Faculty

The Office of Diversity and Inclusion offers several opportunities for faculty development. There are two opportunities, in particular, which may be of interest to faculty: The Warner Reynolds Leadership Academy, and the Foundational Leadership Program.

Warner Reynolds Leadership Academy

The Warner Reynolds Leadership Academy offers opportunities for mentorship in order to advance faculty in science and medicine. The one-day Academy provides the chance to do such things as network, develop mentorship plans, practice communication skills, and learn strategies to mentor others. Foundational Leadership Program

The Biological Sciences Division (BSD) Foundational Leadership program offers opportunities for building essential leadership skills, including giving effective feedback, identifying the needs and expectations of stakeholders, enhancing stakeholder engagement, developing emotional intelligence and managing during change. Each session is facilitated by a faculty leader and an executive staff member in the Biological Sciences Division. Participants must attend 2 full days of training. Click here to learn more.

Warner-Reynolds Longitudinal Leadership Program

The Warner-Reynolds Longitudinal Leadership Program is a new opportunity which focuses on mid-career faculty at the late Assistant (>5 years) and Associate Professor level who are ready to advance to meaningful leadership opportunities and take the next step towards developing core leadership skills.  The program consists of 9 sessions and topics include professional identity; best practices for strategic planning; resilience and mindfulness; creating working partnerships; leadership styles; and strategies for successful negotiation.  Click here to learn more and submit your application.
