This Friday, January 23, the German Philosophy Workshop will host the University of Chicago’s own Joshua Mendelsohn, who will present his paper “Hegel on the Ethics of Antigone”. Mendelsohn uses Hegel’s reading of Sophocles’ Antigone to cast light on Hegel’s conception of the ontology of social roles, in critical comparison to Christine Korsgaard.
