Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Happy new year to you all, and welcome to the winter quarter of the History and Theory of Capitalism Workshop.

We will begin our quarter with a joint session alongside the Latin American History Workshop (LAHW), where we will be joined by Nahomi Esquivel (PhD Student in History, UChicago) to discuss her paper titled “Boot-Legged Braceros: Green Card Commuters and the Making of Pseudo Guest-Workers, 1959-1963“. Following the LAHW format, Kate Reed (PhD student in History, UChicago) has kindly agreed to participate as the discussant.

Please note the changed time and place for this special joint session: Thursday, January 11, from 4:30-6:00pm (Pick Hall 118).
