October 5

YOU BE MY ALLY launch

An augmented reality (AR) web-based application will allow users to see fragments of texts taught in the UChicago Core curriculum virtually “projected” onto the façades of seven buildings on campus. As users approach one of the seven sites, they will see a marker on the ground with a QR code. Scanning this code will launch the AR app, enabling users to see the virtual “projections” on their device. Users will also be able to access part of the experience even if they aren’t on campus.

LED trucks

Additional text selections (including texts written by UChicago students) will be displayed on the sides of LED trucks, which will drive around campus, the South Side, and downtown Chicago. Some texts will be drawn from the Core curriculum and others will support get-out-the-vote efforts.

October 30

 Unmarkered experience launch

More of the fragments of text that Holzer has selected from the Core will be available in the web-based app and accessible to “project” regardless of location.
