The Chicago School in Experimental Economics (CSEE)

The Second Annual Chicago School in Experimental Economics (CSEE) in two locations for 2025!

BONN, GERMANY, September 7-11, 2025

CHICAGO, UNITED STATES, September 13–17, 2025

We are pleased to announce the next edition of the Chicago School in Experimental Economics (CSEE), now organized by ECONtribute, IZA and the University of Chicago. This edition features two summer schools for 2025. One will take place at the University of Bonn on September 7-11, and is organized and funded by IZA and ECONtribute. The other will take place at the University of Chicago on September 13-17, and is organized by the University of Chicago and funded by a generous gift from Jim and Karen Frank.

Objective

The goal of the summer school is to deepen scholars’ understanding and knowledge of frontier experimental methods. The summer school will feature an intensive one-week course based on the forthcoming textbook on experimental economics by John A. List (University of Chicago). The full spectrum of designing, conducting, analyzing, and interpreting data from experiments will be covered. In addition, attendants will have the opportunity to present and discuss their research. Applications are open for those who (i) work with experimental methods, (ii) are interested in applying them in the future or (iii) teach or want to incorporate experimental methods in their classes. Priority will be given to junior faculty, but applications are open to (post)-doctoral students as well.
