A postdoctoral position will be available starting summer 2019 investigating the excited state dynamics of micro- and nano-structured organic and hybrid inorganic-organic materials including the influence of grain boundaries, grain size, and domain orientations. The ultimate goal of the project is to determine how a material’s microscopic structure influences material functionality for use in macroscopic systems. This includes investigating the correlation between microscopic charge transport and macroscopic charge carrier mobility, how the electronic states of grain boundaries can act as charge trapping sites, and determining the link between morphology and electronic excited state dynamics.

Experience in ultrafast spectroscopy or photoemission spectroscopy/microscopy is required with strong preference for candidates with previous experience working with ultrahigh vacuum surface and materials preparation.
