The Mass Culture Workshop and the Film Studies Center at the University of Chicago invite you to two events featuring Joshua Oppenheimer, Macarthur “Genius Grant” recipient and director of The Act of Killing (2012), named Film of the Year in 2013 by The Guardian and Sight and Sound.
A screening of The Look of Silence, Oppenheimer’s 2014 film, will take place on Sunday, November 8 at 6:00 PM in room 201 of the Logan Center. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Oppenheimer. A description of the film and more information about the event can be found here.
A workshop and discussion with Oppenheimer will take place the following morning, on Monday, November 9from 10 AM to 12 PM. This event will be held in room 801 of the Logan Center.
Refreshments will be provided at the workshop.
