Serge Lusignan, Feb. 24

Please join us for the next workshop, Friday February 24, from 12-1:30 in Wieboldt 207, in which we host Serge Lusignan, Professor of History at the University of Montreal.

Prof. Lusignan will deliver a lecture entitled: “The contribution of historical sociolinguistic to history: the case of Picard French (XIIIth-XVth century).”

Please note, this meeting has no pre-circulated paper. However, Prof. Lusignan has sent two articles (attached below) that he requests we read in preparation for the workshop, as an introduction to the field of sociolinguistic history. In addition please make sure to print out and bring a copy of the handout.

Emmanuelle Bonnafoux, PhD candidate in Romance Languages and Literatures, will introduce Prof. Lusignan and will briefly discuss the methodological articles.
