REPRESENTING THE MIDDLE AGES
The 28th Annual Conference of the Illinois Medieval Association
February 25-26, 2011
DePaul University
Chicago
The annual IMA conference will take place this year at DePaul University on February 25-26. An array of sessions, in art, history, literature, music, philosophy, and even digital humanities have been scheduled—“Representing the Middle Ages” in numbers of ways. Along the same lines, James Robinson (Curator of Late Medieval Collections at the British Museum) will present the plenary paper: “Material Understanding: Making the Middle Ages Matter at the British Museum.” The conference schedule is available on the IMA’s website at www.illinoismedieval.org. The registration form is also there.
For out-of-towners, arrangements have been made with the Belden-Stratford Hotel for nicely discounted rates: $99.00 a night for suites with queen-sized beds. The Belden-Stratford’s an elegant hotel that’s convenient to DePaul’s Lincoln Park campus, where the conference will take place. They’re holding a number of rooms for IMA participants, but reservations have to be made by February 8. For more information about the Belden-Stratford, go to their website at www.beldenstratford.com; to make reservations, call 800-800-8301 and mention the Illinois Medieval Association.
