Welcome to graduate school. We’re happy you’re here. We recognize that it is demanding to get used to a new Department and a new city, to adapt to the rigors of graduate study, and to adjust to the fast pace of the quarter system. The information in this handbook is designed to support you in learning the finer points of how things work around our Department and University. Please also refer to the curriculum for more on academic requirements. You can always ask for help with matters you don’t understand from your assigned faculty mentor, from the faculty member serving as Director of Graduate Studies (DGS), the Student Affairs Administrator, and other Departmental staff and faculty.
