This project contains scans of the notecards from which Professor Don Michael Randel compiled An Index to the Chant of the Mozarabic Rite (Princeton, 1973). They are organized and listed here by the chant genres that make up the rite, as is the Index. Unlike the Index, however, the cards present the neumatic notation for the incipit of each chant. For some genres (e.g., Psalmi), the reverse side of the card (identified by the letter B) includes notation for the ending of the piece in question. The notation shown is taken from the first of the manuscript sources listed on each card below the incipit. For a list of the sigla used to identify the sources, see the Index.

The notecards were digitized and compiled by Chris Davidson DIGS MA Graduate (’23) and Forum for Digital Culture 2024 Summer Intern.
