The Master of Science in Molecular Engineering

  • This one-year program is designed to provide students with specialized technical training across the disciplines of science and engineering in order to accelerate the career trajectory of graduates. 
  • In addition to core courses, students will have the opportunity to pursue a specialized track to enhance their degree.
  • Students will be able to take elective courses across the university, from the Humanities Division to the Department of Computer Science.

Molecular Engineering and Computational Materials Track

Blends molecular engineering, quantum and classical simulation, and data science to provide integrated training for students to be at the forefront of multiscale materials simulation and design. Students will be well-prepared for careers in molecular and chemical engineering, materials and polymer science, applied science, and allied fields.

Polymer Science and Engineering Track

Provides students with a sophisticated, molecular-level understanding of the structure, interactions, and properties of polymers and soft materials. Students will be well-prepared for careers in materials, polymers, consumer products, biotech, and energy industries.

As a master’s student, you’ll engage directly with industry leaders throughout the program. MSME students will also take advanced core classes with current PhD candidates at Pritzker Molecular Engineering.

A signature differentiator for PME is the remarkable and cutting-edge facilities utilized by students, faculty, and researchers. Highlights include the Pritzker Nanofabrication Facility (PNF) and the Soft Matter Characterization Facility (SMCF). MSME students will take track courses that engage with the SMCF and the Resource Computing Center (RCC) at the university.
