2020 Erg-A-Thon
Setting the Standard
Following up on our success last season where we purchased our first new 8+ in years, we have kept busy despite the pandemic ensuring the team continues to thrive. This year, we announced an $11,000 fundraising campaign to support our initiatives to foster diversity and inclusion on the team, and give back to South Side communities. Help us achieve our goals.
This has been a difficult year, but the UChicago Crew Team is, as always, poised to grow in the face of challenge. We are now asking you to join us in this growth by participating in our biggest fundraiser of the year, the annual Erg-A-Thon. Over six days from Dec 26-31, our team will strive to collectively row 1 million meters to raise donations for our team. The Erg-a-Thon is a symbol of our commitment to winter training, and the successful operation of our club.
Traditionally, we would row in public, nonstop over several days. Because we are all scattered this year, we are also running, swimming, and biking meters in addition to rowing — and we are inviting you to join us. Here is how you can support our mission:
- Sponsor an athlete – should you choose to sponsor an athlete, they will row meters personally dedicated to you.
- Join us in the challenge! Sign up as a guest “rower,” and during the week of December 26th-31st, log your meters or other exercise with us.
